Keep Angsoeng Lit
The Pookai Book Project also tries to gather educational materials beyond books. In particular, we’re looking for pens and pencils, blank certificates that can be used to recognize achievement, empty notebooks and educational DVDs.
In 2004 the Angsoeng Library began teaching English and art classes to children. By late that year, it opened its own computer lab. One of its computers, which was donated by the Pookai Book Project, includes a DVD player that can play discs encoded for the United States market (European DVDs will not work).
Supplying educational materials and DVDs allows Angsoeng to spend its money on teachers and other programs and provide children with quality materials to enhance the educational experience.
