Science and TechnologyPreparing Cambodians for a world of information technology is among the primary goals of the Angsoeng Library. To further that, The Pookai Book Project is hoping to collect basic books introducing Cambodians to the Internet and information technology. At some point, we will send intermediate-level books.
In addition, we are seeking grade school, high school and college-level science books.
Cambodians are gaining more and more access to the Internet. As Cambodia improves its infrastructure and an increasingly technical world marches forward, it is important for Cambodians to be ready to jump in feet-first online.
Angsoeng Library is located in an area with access to phone lines and, potentially, Internet use. The Pookai Book Project plans to send a computer to the library in 2003 that could handle both broadband and dial-up connections.
