Pookai Sends Fifth Shipment for 2005

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Pookai Book Project sent 21 books and $340 to the Angsoeng Library in Cambodia for its fifth shipment of 2005.

The Project sent the following books: Gigi and Zachary’s Around the World Adventure by Gilles Eduar; A Photographic Essay Samoa by Frederic Koehler Sutter; Touch Typing Mad Simple by Doubleday Made Simple Books; To See the Moon by Ethel Bacon; Star Wars by Random House; Nine Animals and the Well by James Rumford; When Everybody Wore a Hat by William Steig; Going to the Doctor by T. Berry Brazelton; Africa by Barrons; The Water Gift and the Pig of the Pig by Jacqueline Briggs Martin; Famous Athletes by Goodman; Something New Begins by Lillian Moore; Stalking the Elephant Kings by Christopher Kremmer; The Swiss Family Robinson by Joanne Wyss; Thomas the Tank Engine by Random House; Merril Spelling Book for Mastery by Merril Publishing Company; The Taking by Dean Koontz; The Pooh’s Honey Bee Counting Book by Disney; I Spy Little Wheels by Jen Marzollo; The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown; and Jack and the Beanstalk by Hy Murdock.

The Pookai Project’s mission is to help the restoration of Cambodia by gathering funds and need-specific books for the Angsoeng Library. These donations will promote literacy, accelerate education, speed economic development and empower Cambodians to take their place on the world stage. Its first client is the Angsoeng Library, run by leading journalist Chandara Lor.
