ROCKFORD, Ill. – Chenda Taing, president of the Cambodian Association of Illinois, presents a $200 check to Julia Seper, president of The Pookai Book Project after members of both groups attended the book reading by Sarah Streed on Oct. 4. Members of the association donated the money to help the Angsoeng Library in Cambodia and extended the cooperation between the two groups since the Pookai Book Project was formed in 2001. The next shipment in December of $200 to the Angsoeng Library will be in the name of The Cambodian Association of Illinois.
