Shooting at the Heart of Darkness

Last night there was yet another shooting at the Heart of Darkness. This time somebody was killed. The details are sketchy at this point, and will become clearer over the next couple of days. But one thing is for sure. Somebody was shot to death at the Heart last night. Fortunately for Cambodia's tourism industry it was not a tourist, but it was murder nonetheless. It was painfully predictable, Khmer on Khmer (like that was a surprise) and IMO a direct result of the Heart's piss poor, indifferent, deceitful security.

Around 3:30AM, gunfire erupted at the bar. Reports are that several shots were fired. One man was shot to death, shot point blank. The Heart is now closed, and will remain closed for until...

The Jungle Blog cites a Cambodia Daily report saying the shooter was seen “"in the company of children of high-ranking government officials.”
