Unified Thai-Cambodia Visa Coming Soon

This is great news. The $20 tourist visa fee at the Cambodia border would disappear and it would allow tourists to easily travel across the borders. A move like this would hopefully push other countries, like Vietnam, to strike a similar deal with Cambodia.

I cannot believe that Cambodia would sign a contract with Thailand to allow visitors to enter either country without having to pay visa fee. Cambodia will lose a lot of revenue since most of the tourists would first enter Thailand where the Thais impose a visa fee. Then, those very same tourists will enter Cambodia without paying any visa fee to the Cambodian government.

Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Kingdom of Cambodia, has launched e-Visa that enables travelers to apply for Cambodia Visa online. With this new service, applicants are able to obtain a visa in 3 days, with just a few clicks away.

To apply for e-Visa, applicants need to have a passport valid for at least 6 months, a recent passport size photo (JPEG/PNG format) and a valid credit card (Visa/Master).
